Pukka Knife- Katalox
Full Length- approx. 5 1/4""
Blade- approx. 2"
Blade Width- approx. 1/2"
The puukko is a Scandinavian knife that has been made for centuries. The blade is a stainless Swedish blade made by Laurie. The Swedes typically opt for less ornate blades and cutting function rather than elegance. The blade is cemented in the handle with epoxy resin. The handle material is Katalox Wood, with a curly maple bolster and red nylon spacer. It is finished with a matt finish called Danish Oil, with a light, hand rubbed, beeswax. You can throw linseed oil or lemon oil on it to brighten it up. The sheath is from vegetable tanned leather, which allows for wet forming. The hanger is inserted through the sheath wet and then smoothed to finish. The whole thing is sewn with 20# braided fish line. The sheath is dyed in a blue dye. The hanger loop buttons are deer antler, sewn on after the sheath is dyed. I would recommend keeping the sheath dry.
