Ange Bonhen Mohorakeye
~ basketmaker ~

I learned how to weave when I was a little girl from my grand mother. the basket is a symbol of peace and beauty in my Country. I continue to weave baskets to make known the good tradition of weaving done by Rwandan women here in the USA, And sell them through out the country. The proceeds from the sale go to the single mothers and their children back home to support them in this harsh time caused by COVID-19 pandemic that has extremely affected them. they are all made with love,Skills and kindness.
Ange will be in our window making a basket on December 3 and 4 between 1 and 5 pm. She will also demonstrate the many different ways a basket is used. Her work will be featured in the window from November 28 through December 6.
