Kathleen spent her childhood in upstate New York, moving to Maine in the mid 70’s to pursue a career in Montessori education. After marrying in the late 70’s, her world expanded to include a summer house on Vinalhaven Island, 12 miles off the Maine coast. The beauty and isolation of the island are tremendously compelling. Kathleen’s family, including her two sons, spend time on Vinalhaven every summer. It continues to serve as inspiration for creative projects over the years.
Kathleen lives in Bath, Maine, with her husband Sheldon, and a charming feline companion. She is retired from teaching after 44 years and is spending many satisfying hours observing nature, planning rug designs, searching for beautiful fibers, and hooking rugs…..one loop at a time.
