![]() As the season has changed from summer to fall, we start thinking about the holidays. We've been busy in the gallery with new work coming in, rearranging some areas, and adding a new artist or two. This coming Tuesday (Nov. 2) at 6:30 PM, glass artist Stephanie Sersich will be giving a Virtual Artist Talk. Stephanie explores beads and glass by giving new meaning to traditional forms. What separates her jewelry from others is that she challenges herself by using both the old and the new together. Read more about Stephanie here. Register in advance here. Trunk show november 6 |
We're so excited to have Suzanne Anderson in the gallery for the afternoon. She'll be set up with new stock and old favorites. If you're not familiar with her work, Suzanne makes colorful, casual enamel jewelry. She's intrigued by the variety of fungus and lichen in the Maine woods and incorporates that in her designs. If you're out and about, stop in this Thursday, June 8, between 1:30 and 5 PM to meet Suzanne. It's starting to get busy around here! So nice to see people wandering around, going in and out of the shops downtown. With Covid restrictions relaxed, we're all feeling more free to be inside with other people. We no longer require masks, but ask that people respect others who feel the need to wear them and keep at a safe distance. |
Our associate member Barbara Burns has been developing an event calendar for us and it's filling up! The first Virtual Artist Talk will be Tuesday, April 20, 6:30-7:30 pm. Susan Perrine, who creates the woven structures and lamps you may have seen in our window and Wayne Robbins- Contemporary Hand Carved Wood Birds and Marine Mammals will be talking about their work. Library Description Registration Only (required) Trunk shows have also been scheduled. If you're not familiar with them, they are a great way to get some special pieces from artists. They bring in work that may be new or more variety of what they usually have. No matter what, it's always a treat. They only last a few hours so be sure to put them on your calendar. We have Suzanne Anderson, Jackie Haines, and Bonnie Bishoff scheduled so far. You can see our complete calendar with descriptions. We update it as events are scheduled. |
